Representing Canada will be Jill Henselwood of Oxford Mills, ON, riding Special Ed owned by Juniper Farms, Eric Lamaze of Schomberg, ON, riding Hickstead owned by Torrey Pines and Ashland Stables, Ian Millar of Perth, ON, riding In Style owned by Susan Grange, and Chris Pratt of Belfountain, ON, riding Rivendell, also owned by Susan Grange.  Mario Deslauriers of Bromont, QC, is the alternate with his own Paradigm.

Leopold van Asten has his Sponsor Dancing
The arena of Stal Tops morphed into a madhouse when VDL Groep team rider Leopold van Asten won Sunday’s VDL Groep Grand Prix at CSI5* Valkenswaard. Acting as the fifth leg of the Global Champions Tour, sponsored by CN and CN WorldWide, the Grand Prix saw a total of 50 riders attempt the 1.60m track set by course designer Christa Jung (GER). Of the 18 riders who returned for the second round, 10 had been clear in the first round. Half of them again managed to be clear to advance to the all-deciding jump-off.

CDI3* Toronto CNE Dressage Classic Debuts to Rave Reviews
The first annual CDI3* Toronto CNE Dressage Classic made its debut from August 10 to 12 in Toronto, ON. Held at the Ricoh Coliseum, site of the famous Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, the indoor dressage competition was a hit with competitors, spectators and officials alike. The Ricoh Coliseum also happens to be situated at Exhibition Place in the heart of Toronto, which plays host to the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) each August. Knox Henry, President of the Canadian National Exhibition Association, gave his full support to the CDI3* Toronto CNE Dressage Classic, helping to ensure its success.

Karen Cudmore of Victoria, BC, claimed victory in the $100,000 World Cup Grand Prix held Sunday, August 6, at the CSI-W Caledon Summer Festival in Palgrave, ON. A stellar starting field of 30 horses and riders, including Olympic and World Championship veterans, attempted the first round track set by Canadian course designer Michel Vaillancourt, himself an Olympic Silver Medallist.
