November 4, 2012 – Lexington, KY A total of $9,000 in bonus money was offered in the International Open Jumper division with Hough claiming every penny. When the first bonus of $3,000 was not awarded in Wednesday’s $50,000 International Open Jumper Welcome Speed, it carried forward to Thursday’s $75,000 Double H Farm International Open Jumper competition. There, Hough of Wellington, Florida, guided Quick Study to the top of a 14-horse jump-off field. Wearing SSG ‘Digital’ gloves on her way to victory, Hough claimed $6,000 in bonus money from SSG Riding Gloves, in addition to her share of the prize money. Hough then repeated her winning ways in Friday’s $50,000 Chartis Insurance Company International Open Jumper Speed. Riding Oh La La, Hough had the crowd on the edge of its seat as she again stopped the clock in the fastest time to secure the victory. Wearing SSG ‘Digitals’, Hough collected another $3,000 bonus from SSG Riding Gloves. “It’s a smart thing that the company does; it does a super job of promoting the brand, and it gives the riders a nice bonus,” said Hough, a 2000 Sydney Olympian. “The bonus money is a nice carrot, and helps with our costs. The position I’m in, I pay for all of these horses to go to the horse shows, so every little bit helps.” In the Junior division, Abigail McArdle topped the $10,000 Deeridge Farm Junior Speed on Thursday to win a $1,000 bonus from SSG Riding Gloves. The Barrington, Illinois native didn’t stop there, however. As the last to go in a field of 30 starters, McArdle guided Cosma 20 to the fastest time to win the $50,000 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic presented by Pasmore Stables. For her win, McArdle was awarded a bonus of $2,000 from SSG Riding Gloves, bringing her total bonus money won to $3,000. In the Amateur-Owner division, Alise Oken picked up a double bonus of $2,000 for winning Friday’s $15,000 Chasonette Farm Amateur-Owner Jump-Off competition. All bonus money won in the SSG Riding Gloves ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion was presented directly to the winning rider during the award presentations. In addition to offering its wildly popular ‘Go Clean for the Green’ incentive program, SSG Riding Gloves also gave one pair of its ‘Digital’ style gloves to all 150 competitors in the ASPCA Maclay National Championship.
