August 25, 2014 – Langley, BC – Morgan Thomas was the final winner in the SSG Gloves “Go Clean for the Green” promotion as the series concluded its fourth year at the Thunderbird Show Park in Langley, BC.

The CSI2* Summer Fort Festival held August 20 to 24 hosted the final opportunity for riders to show their loyalty to the SSG Gloves brand by competing wearing ‘Digital’ style gloves. On Saturday afternoon, August 23, Morgan Thomas did just that, winning the $15,000 Foxstone USHJA International Hunter Derby to claim the $1,000 bonus on offer in the SSG Gloves “Go Clean for the Green” promotion.

A total of 22 entries competed in the Fort Grand Prix Ring, and well over half of the riders were sporting SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves to be eligible for the $1,000 bonus. Following the opening round of competition, Thomas and the nine-year-old Moonrise Kingdom were sitting at the top of the leaderboard with a score of 187 points. As the last rider to return in the handy round, Thomas had the advantage of watching his fellow competitors before stepping into the ring and laying down a stellar round for a score of 186 points. With a two-round total of 373 points, Thomas secured the victory over Brent Balisky and Vigolo Z.

“I love the SSG ‘Digital’ gloves,” said Thomas, who rides out of Parkside Stables in Bellevue, WA. “I will go out of my way to recommend them to others. They are the best feeling! They always have a truly solid grip, and they offer flexibility yet are form-fitting.”

It was a fitting finale, as Thomas had also claimed a $1,000 bonus in the SSG Gloves promotion during the opening week of the 2014 season at Thunderbird Show Park. Riding Hennepin County, Thomas won the $2,500 Dexter Associates Realty USHJA National Hunter Derby during the Canadian Premier tournament held May 21 to 25.

“The promotion is truly wonderful marketing for a wonderful product,” concluded Thomas.

Now in its fourth consecutive year, the SSG Gloves “Go Clean for the Green” promotion offered a total of $12,000 in bonus money to hunter and jumper competitors throughout the 2014 show season at Thunderbird Show Park. A $1,000 bonus was on offer to the winner of designated grand prix and hunter events if they are wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves with the horse head logo clearly visible in all rounds of competition.

SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves are available for purchase at the Thunderbird Tack Shop, The Dog and Pony Shop, Equestrian Factory Outlet, Equi-Products, and Greenhawk Harness and Equestrian Supplies.
