Angelstone Farms Announces Jumping Competition May 8 and 9

Angelstone Farms will host a Jumping Competition on Saturday and Sunday, May 8 and 9, 2010.

April 9, 2010 – Rockwood, Ontario – Angelstone Farms of Rockwood, ON, will host a two-day jumping competition on Saturday and Sunday, May 8 and 9, 2010.

Based on the success of last year’s inaugural event, Angelstone Farms has expanded its format to offer a two-day competition on May 8 and 9. The purpose of the competition, held at the newly developed Angelstone Farms facility, is to provide an affordable way for riders to develop horses, including young prospects, at a very low cost.

The two-day competition at Angelstone Farms will consist of four classes held each day on quality footing and featuring decorative jumps provided by Brody Robertson. Entries for the 1.00m, 1.10m and 1.20m divisions are $25 per class. The Open Jumper Division, *Presented by *System Fencing and Seegmiller Construction, features a $2,500 1.25m competition on Saturday and a $5,000 1.30m competition on Sunday, and is offered at a $50 entry fee per horse. A limited amount of on-site permanent stabling is also available.

“Over the past few years, a major concern that has been raised is the cost of developing young horses,” said 2008 Canadian Show Jumping Champion Keean White of Angelstone Farms. “In an effort to be part of the solution, we have developed this idea in the hopes that it will grow into something we can all benefit from in the future. Based on the success of our first initiative in 2009 and the positive response we received, we have expanded on the idea for 2010.”

At Angelstone Farms, horses and riders will warm-up on grass while the show ring, measuring 150m x 220m, consists of all-weather footing by Karen Leeming. The show begins at 10 a.m. sharp both days with the 1.00m competition, followed by the 1.10m at 12 noon and the 1.20m at 2 p.m. The final class of the day will be the Open Jumper competitions.

Drinks are complimentary throughout both competition days while food is available on-site. All competitors are invited to attend a concert and barbeque on Saturday, May 8, beginning at 6 p.m.

Angelstone Farms wishes to thank its leading sponsors, Seegmiller Construction, System Fencing and Angelstone Productions, as well as more than 30 other sponsors for their support.
