The Capital Classic Show Jumping Tournament
Welcomes Kubota Canada

June 15, 2004 – Ottawa, Ontario
– The Capital Classic Show Jumping Tournament, held July 13-18, in Ottawa, ON, is pleased to welcome Kubota Canada Ltd. as the new sponsor of the $10,000 Kubota’ Open Welcome Stake on Friday, July 16.

Scheduled for 6 p.m., the $10,000 ‘Kubota’ Open Welcome Stake is held in the early evening to allow for families and spectators getting out of work to enjoy world-class show jumping on a warm summer’s night. The $10,000 ‘Kubota’ Open Welcome Stake will feature all of the top horse-rider combinations and is unique in that the order of placing will determine the order of go for Sunday’s $75,000 ‘Big Ben Memorial’ Grand Prix, meaning that the winner of the Kubota Open Welcome Stake will have the advantage of being the final rider to contest the ‘Big Ben Memorial’ Grand Prix, one of the richest grand prix events held in Canada.

In addition to the $10,000 Kubota’ Open Welcome Stake, and the $75,000 ‘Big Ben Memorial’ Grand Prix, other highlights include Saturday’s $35,000 Jumping Derby, and the crowd-pleasing $5,000 Horse and Dog Relay in addition to Friday’s Canadian Young Horse Jumper Development Series which showcases the grand prix horses of tomorrow.

Kubota Canada Ltd. is Canada’s leading distributor of compact diesel tractors and construction equipment. Its product line includes more than 50 different models of compact diesel tractors as well as a wide variety of products such as Kubota Diesel Engines, gasoline and diesel powered generators, water pumps and power washers, and a full line of mini excavators and wheel loaders.

Those in attendance at the Capital Classic Show Jumping Tournament will have the opportunity to ‘test drive’ Kubota equipment as the company will have an interactive promotional booth on-site. One of 21 world affiliates of the Kubota Corporation based in Osaka, Japan, Kubota Canada Ltd. is located in Markham, ON. For more information, please visit www.kubota.ca.

The Capital Classic Show Jumping Tournament runs from Tuesday, July 13, to Sunday, July 18, 2004, at the Nepean National Equestrian Park in Ottawa, Ontario, located just off the Moodie Drive exit of the 417 Highway. One of the largest show jumping tournaments in eastern Ontario, over 700 horses will compete for more than $150,000 in prize money in front of approximately 10,000 spectators throughout the six days of competition.
